The Marvel world is going ape! Are you thinking Spider-man from Manhattan? How about Spider-Monkey from Monkhattan? Or Doc-Ook and Iron-Mandrill?

The four issue series is coming out in October 2008. While Marvel Zombies tied in with the Fantastic Four Universe, Gibbon (Martin Blank) will be visiting this universe.

Gibbon isn’t the only simian mutuant, Man-Ape might have been a better choice but we’ll be seeing how Gibbon fares come this October!

Apparently, the idea for Marvel Apes was based on the success of Marvel Zombies. What if scenarios seem to the the popular thing these days. What if the world was zombified? What if the world was ruled by apes? Will Spiderman and Wolverine go banannas? If this is the case, does this mean the existing ape-like mutants will take on another form?

The first news about Marvel Apes came in the beginning of 2007 but we haven’t heard much more yet.
